Municipality of Oss visits Joosten Academy — together, we go much further, much faster through collaboration.

Last week, Pascal and colleague Geert-Jan Derksen welcomed the team of twenty-four men and women to our headquarters in Bemmel.
After a period of limited contact, Joop de Groot from the Municipality of Oss approached us with the request to organize an informative morning session for the Public Space Maintenance team and the specialists from the Design and Management of Public Space (IBOR) department.
“Naturally,” was Pascal Otten’s response. At Joosten Academy, we are passionate about sharing our expertise in Infrastructure Technology, Water Management, Green Concepts, and Green Roofs.

Different disciplines are working together in Oss.
What’s remarkable is that in Oss, the disciplines of sewer systems, road construction, civil engineering, landscaping, and geo-management work together in an integrated way—they collaborate with each other rather than alongside one another.
This became evident during the discussion of a project case where trees and sewer infrastructure intersected, sparking a healthy and constructive debate. It was inspiring to see how the various areas of expertise immediately came together to seek a joint solution.
After the tour and a delicious lunch, the group from Brabant—led by Joop and Rudi Schleedoorn—headed out for an afternoon in the Herperduin nature reserve, part of the Municipality of Oss.
With gatherings like this, we aim to learn with and from each other. Collaboration helps us move forward faster—and farther.
