Cleaning floating debris from Sloterplas
Giving a used Shoreliner a second life? Absolutely! Joosten Groep, Tauw BV, and AMS Institute have joined forces and, as part of the project Solving the Urban Plastic Soup, have fully restored an old Shoreliner to working condition.

Shoreliner cleans the water in Sloterplas, Amsterdam

The Shoreliner, a collection device designed to capture floating debris, was renovated by Joosten Van Kaam after years of roaming as a test setup. In collaboration with other partners and the City of Amsterdam, it has now been installed in Sloterplas.

MORE THAN JUST A TEST
Around Sloterplas, various initiatives by enthusiastic associations and individuals aim to keep the lake clean and livable. Our Shoreliner is a valuable addition to support this mission.
Additionally, the Shoreliner is part of the graduation research of a student from Wageningen University & Research.
THE NEXT MOORING SPOT?
The project in Amsterdam runs for approximately six months. Where will the Shoreliner be moored next? If you have a good suggestion, let us know!
Thanks to everyone who helped make this project possible:
Municipality of Amsterdam, AMS Institute, Duikbedrijf Boerenbv, Waternet, Tauw, Joosten Groep, Wageningen University & Research, Board of WV Sloterplas, and many others.
